Mahoraba 25 & 26 - Final
June 27th, 2005 by Gunlex

Gunlex: The series wraps up with an one hour Mahoraba special. I have to say I enjoyed the way things turned out. It wasn’t anything unexpected or out of the ordinary. However, it was still a very suitable ending for a series like Mahoraba. I thought the dramatic scenes were done well too. Tamami is finally able to work out her issues. Being able to hear Haibara’s real voice was a surprise. We see that he has been looking out for Kozue ever since she was a child. To try to bring Kozue back we get to see Shiratori’s entire story all stringed together. Although I would have liked to see more actual animation than see his story all over again, I have to admit it was appropriate for the series. Besides resolving Kozue’s problem, we also learn about the fate of the other inhabitants. Sometimes series will leave these loose ends unresolved. I’m glad they filled all the holes in the final episode.
So after watching the series from start to finish, do I think this was worth my time? Most definately. The series may not be anything new or unique, but nevertheless it was entertaining. The character designs are nice and the animation is pretty clean. This series doesn’t require you to think deep about the story or its characters. It won’t spark any heated discussions either. But if you want a relaxing, feel-good series, Mahoraba is for you.
