Sousei no Aquarion 17

This week the girls try dieting with catatrophic consequences. I thought it was pretty funny seeing them go through with the dieting and end up dreaming about food. It’s nothing more than another filler episode though. With that said, I must say I think this is still one of the better filler episodes for the series. Apparently Rena has more hidden powers than what we saw in the previous episode. Not only is she a teleporting vampire, she can also make plants grow. (;´д⊂)

Bleach 42

Inoue looked great in this episode. It’s been a while since we last saw her. I thought putting her hair up in the shinigami outfit was nice. It looks like the fight against Mayura is finally going to begin in the next episode. We get a bit of Inoue humour in this episode too, something we haven’t seen in quite some time. With three days to train Ichigo, Yoruichi finally begins training Ichigo so he can achieve bankai.

Kamichu! 4

We meet Yurie’s wish helpers in this episode. I really liked Team Shiawase’s entrance, it was cute. At first I didn’t like the idea of them adding aliens in this episode. After finishing the episode I thought it worked out pretty well though. The alien’s reason for coming to Earth was totally unique in my opinion. Yurie’s use of the final sheet of paper was a nice way to end the farewell scene. I liked the previous episodes better, but this one was pretty good overall.

Gun x Sword 4

I thought this was going to be another filler episode. We do get to learn a few things in this episode. It looks like Van’s fiance, Elena, was killed by the guy with the claw at their wedding. At least that’s what it looked like. So now we may know why he’s looking for the guy now. Although it seems pretty minor, it looks as if Van’s yoroi can heal Van. We get to see Wendy with her hair down for a bit. I still think she should keep it down. It looks better that way in my opinion. A new character shows up at the end of the episode as well. All in all, I enjoyed watching this episode.

Eureka 7 15

A couple of things come up in this episode. It seems like Holland has some sort of connection with Renton’s sister. We also get to learn a bit more about Renton’s father, albeit the information was minimal. Eureka still can’t get Nirvash to move like it used to. After seeing Renton pilot Nirvash, Eureka becomes upset with him. We’re no closer to answering the questions revolving around Eureka and Nirvash. The pace of the series seems to be just right considering it still has over 40 episodes to go.

Oku-sama wa Mahou Shoujo 4

It looks like Sayaka has feelings for Tatsumi. For once I thought she was right when she was confronted by Ureshiko. Ureshiko will probably pass on the guardianship to Sayaka by the end of the series. I can’t help but hate Tamotsu and feel sorry for Ureshiko after watching this episode. Here we have Ureshiko who’s making sacrifices to watch over Wonderland and Tamotsu who’s just a prick. We get to see a flashback of Ureshiko and her mother, I wonder if we’ll find out what happened to her mother. I found this to be another good episode, just like all the previous ones.

Tsubasa Chronicle 16

Yet another filler episode. I don’t know how they’re going to finish the story in 26 episodes. We still don’t know anything about the real enemies in the series. Nonetheless this episode itself wasn’t bad. I found myself enjoying the story in this one. With only 10 episodes left, they’re probably going to leave the ending really open-ended for a possible season 2 or somehow rush it all.

Gundam SEED Destiny 40

The first few minutes of the episode are wasted on seeing Shinn and Rey become a part of Faith. After that part the episode pretty much went uphill from there. Cagalli totally made up for her uselessness in this episode. Akatsuki is the perfect mobile suit for someone who isn’t a great pilot. We get to hear a new FictionJunction song, “Akatsuki no Tobira” as well. Cagalli taking charge and getting Jona arrested was long overdue. Of course Shinn had to appear at the end to be the asshole that he is.

Ichigo Mashimaro 2

I thought this episode was great, just like the first one. We get to meet Ana in this episode as well. I thought her trying to hide the fact she can speak fluent Japanese was hilarious. Sasazuka getting singled out during class was a good running-gag. Matsuri’s first encounter with Ana was pretty good. Her facial reaction looked hilarious when she replied to Ana’s “Hello”. Miu denying she can speak Japanese during class was nicely done in my opinion. Her pointing out “Eromanga-tou” on the map was quite random, but that transition was fitting for the next scene. Miu may get abused by Nobue for all her wacky ideas, but her nickname for Ana was clever. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.

Honey and Clover 14

We got our first Mayama episode this week. It was an interesting change to see the episode focus on him instead of the usual. We get to see him at work and how his co-workers like to tease him. We learn that Rika’s late husband was an inspiration to Mayama’s co-workers. It appears that Mayama is really protective of Ayu. Whether or not it’s because he thinks of her as a good friend or has some feelings for her but doesn’t realize it yet, that’s still up in the air. Although I’d probably think the former for the time being.
