Gokujou Seitokai 22

August 31st, 2005 by Gunlex

This was kind of an….odd episode. Simply put, combine Yu-Gi-Oh with Gokujou Seitokai and you have episode 22 of Gokujou Seitokai. We do learn one piece of information though. Although it’s not a crucial piece of information we do learn where the student council get the money to pay for everything. Even though this was pretty much the weirdest episode thus far, I still thought it was fun to watch. Seina was cute with her “nanchatte” in this episode so that deserves some bonus points.

Suzuka 9

A dagger through the heart. As annoying as Yamato can be at times, I think Suzuka went a little overboard this time. Although it ultimately just adds to and prolongs the story. We find out that Miki, if she really is being honest, is starting to feel something for Yamato as well. So now there is possibly a new rival. I don’t really think I want to see that develop much further or else it’d feel like the countless other series that have a similar theme. Then again, it may just spice things up considering having Yamato chase Suzuka for the rest of the series while she keeps rejecting him will get old.

Naruto 150

From the looks of it this filler arc will last at least another 2 episodes. The enemies this time around looked weak but as it turns out they’re more skilled than I had anticipated. We get to see Shino use an ability we haven’t seen him do before. It looked pretty impressive at first, but it got broken so easily. I’m hoping we’ll get to see some other ability from him later to make up for it. We learn why the enemies are looking for the bikouchuu as well. With the grudge that they have against Shino’s clan, I would have thought Orochimaru would somehow “assist” them like he did Mizuki.

Kamichu! 8

Another interesting episode. I didn’t think it was as entertaining as last week’s, but this one was still pretty decent on its own. I like how the story from episode to episode is quite different from each other. It may not be intense like some of the other series airing currently, but few are this laid back and easy to watch. One thing I would like to see is more character development for Yurie’s two friends. We don’t really know all that much about them considering they play pretty big parts.

Bleach 47

This week it’s back to the main story. There’s some Matsumoto and Hinamori in this episode, thus automatically making it rock. Matsumoto’s appearance was fairly limited in this episode. Luckily we’ll get to see her again in next week’s episode. The majority of Hinamori’s scenes don’t happen until towards the end. Regardless, any Hinamori is always welcome. I liked the Urahara scenes they put in this episode. It was a nice way to lighten up the mood a bit. They’re catching up to the manga pretty quickly, it may end up like Naruto where they will be required to put in lots of filler episodes.

Sousei no Aquarion 22

August 30th, 2005 by Gunlex

I wasn’t expecting an episode of this calibur so soon. We’re told the truth behind Silvia and Sirius’ identity. Now everything is slowly coming together. From the way it looks Sirius has completely changed sides. It’s probably just a matter of time before he bites the dust. Undeniably the biggest part of this episode was the appearance of a second Aquarion piloted by Glenn. I’m looking forward to see how this all plays out.

Gun x Sword 9

I was hoping to get a Carmen99 episode since watching episode 2. Although it isn’t only focused on Carmen99, we get more scenes with her than previous episodes. We don’t get to see the face of the new character who apparently works for the clawed man. Overall this episode was pretty close to a complete filler. There is SOME development, but it’s minimal. It seems like the flowers being grown has some greater purpose for the clawed man, but I’m not sure if they will actually expand on that anymore in the series.

Oku-sama wa Mahou Shoujo 9

Wow, with the way the episode played out I would have guessed this was the episode right before the final one if I didn’t know this was a 13 episode series. Props to Tatsumi for finally figuring out his feelings and actually doing something about it. We see Ureshiko’s predecessor in this episode as well. It seemed kind of late to introduce another character, but she probably won’t play a big part with the amount of time left. Just when we think Ureshiko was finally able to give up her guardianship, something comes up. At least now she won’t have to deal with that bastard Tamotsu anymore.

Eureka 7 19

August 28th, 2005 by Gunlex

Lots of stuff happened in this episode. Although in the end we’re left with more questions than before. At least we know partly what Eureka has wanted to do. It seems like Holland may have taken Renton in as a favor for his sister. We still don’t know why Holland dislikes Renton so much for piloting Nirvash. From what we know so far, I’m guessing Nirvash has some deep connnection with Renton’s sister. That would explain why Nirvash accepts Renton right from the beginning. Otherwise that would seem like it’s completely out of the blue. We’ll probably get some more questions answered in the next episode, so I’m looking foward to it.

Tsubasa Chronicle 19

I noticed they changed some things from the manga. They’re not drastic changes so I don’t think it’ll affect the overall story in any way. At this rate it’ll probably be at least another 2 to 3 episodes before they figure out the truth about this current world. Syaoran and the others meet Souma and Ryu-oh in this episode. I don’t think using Minagawa Junko for Ryu-oh was the best choice, but it wasn’t a horrible mismatch or anything like that. To prevent spoiling anymore than necessary, I will refrain from commenting on the hooded figure.
