Witchblade 9

We haven’t moved much closer to the truth about the Excons. Masane does find out that Muraki had committed suicide before somehow becoming an Excon. It’s difficult to make any sort of conclusion with so little information to work with at this point in time. I can’t really figure out what Reina wants with Rihoko right now. Whenever she’s around Rihoko she doesn’t say much and never stays with her for extended periods of time. Rihoko will be told or find out the truth about her real mother at some point. If we’re to apply similar situations in other series to this one we will likely see Rihoko stay with Masane even after everything is out in the open. I didn’t think this was a boring episode, but I would have liked it to move a little faster. We’re not that much better off than we were from the previous episode in terms of plot.

This was the kind of episode I have been waiting for in the series. It took 9 whole episodes, but at least lots of things at happening now. Whether or not this was worth the wait remains to be seen. If they can maintain this level of excitement then it will be worth the wait. Right from the beginning of this episode something big happens. We get to see Kite appear in one of the Lost Grounds looking quite evil. I don’t know what happened to him since I did not play the games. Hopefully they will explain it at some point in the future for those of us who do not have this background knowledge. All the virus cores have now been gathered. I didn’t think B-Set and Gord would join up with the “Twilight Brigade” again. The fight for the “Key of the Twilight” just got a lot more interesting.

Requiring 5 members to participate in the battles, Ikki sets out to find two more people to join his team. Unfortunately, they don’t make any progress on that front in this episode. We get to see the two sides of Agito, or rather the two sides of Akito. I was looking forward to the A-Class Parts War, but it turned out to be somewhat disappointing. I had expected A-Class people to pull of amazing tricks. The only one who pulled off some cool tricks was Agito. As for the Buls, they didn’t seem any better than the average ‘henchmen’ we’ve seen up to this point. It may not have been the best episode to date, but it was entertaining enough to definately warrant watching it. Especially since this isn’t another filler episode.

Bleach 82

Most of the Bounts are now out to test their new powers. Urahara completed the Bount sensor and it turned out to be a silly headband. I must admit I thought it was pretty funny to hear Ichigo say the line required to activate it. It got damaged not long after activating it. I thought it was something that would at least be used more than once. When Ichigo was in trouble I actually thought it would be Rangiku or one of the other shinigami from Soul Society that would save him. I didn’t expect the Hollow within Ichigo to come out at all during this filler arc. It may have looked cool, but it’s seemed too convenient of a way to get out of that situation. I guess it doesn’t matter all that much as long as the episode turned out better than I had expected.

GIRL’S-HIGH 9

This was one of those classic episodes that involves misunderstanding that leads to hilarity.  I thought the writers did a good job with this episode by being able to keep the misunderstanding flowing from the beginning until the end.   As soon as we found out what Akari had been worried about things really took off from there.  It was pretty funny to see the characters trying to cheer her up when we knew what was really going on.  Of course, as much as I liked this episode I still had one issue with it.  I would have liked to see them realize it was all a misunderstanding because that would have provided a perfect opportunity for comedic gold.  Regardless, I still had a lot of fun watching this episode.

War has broken out once again.  This time around they are being invaded by another country.  Without anywhere near the number of troops as the enemy, Hakuro must rely on tactics.  I didn’t find this episode to be as enjoyable as the previous episode.  It took Eruru a while, but she was finally able to speak her mind.  As profound as that may have appeared, it really doesn’t change anything.  Hakuoro may start keeping fewer secrets from Eruru, but I’m guessing that is pretty much the extent of it.  At least it looks like we will meet a new character in the next episode who may help liven things up.  I’m all for expanding the number of characters, but I do hope they don’t wait too long before we start figuring out just who Hakuoro really is.

School Rumble 2 Gakki 9

I was expecting a good episode to compensate for last week’s, but this far exceeded all my expectations. This episode was just filled with hilarious moments. I loved the part where the Outlaws reenacted the scene from the “Hanchakke Basuke” manga from the previous episode. Seeing the characters play those roles cracked me up. Lala’s scenes with Imadori’s shoes were funny as well. I thought it was pretty hilarious to just see her take his shoes and end up completely demolishing them. We got to see a softer side of Lala, something I thought I’d never see. The “Saint Seiya” parody took me by surprise too. Some of Tae’s poses were just like Athena from the original series in the 80’s. Another scene that I thought worked really well was when Tae called upon their “ace” and we see Tenma happily switch sides. It was just like Tenma to go through with something like that. This is definately what other “School Rumble” episodes should be like.

ARIA The NATURAL 9

I think this is the first time we get to see Akari give a tour to actual customers.  This episode ended up going in a completely different direction than I had anticipated in the second half.  When we saw Aika and Alice showing new and interesting places to Akari, I thought the entire episode would be dedicated to their little discovery journey.  As it turns out, Akari is afraid of the dark.  Alicia ends up staying over to keep Akari company.  I believe we have never seen Alicia wear glasses until now.  I can’t say I like this look more, but I found it intriguing nevertheless.  Thanks to the absence of light Akari makes many new discoveries, which naturally fills her with joy.  Once again the series manages to pull off an entertaining episode with a seemingly bland premise.

Ergo Proxy 12

Before watching this episode I had started to get worried that this series would not be able to be as good as the first episode.  To my surprise, Vincent confessed to Rill.  At least now we know that Rill doesn’t feel the same way about Vincent.  She even goes as far as to state that she would take advantage of it.  It felt like it has been a long time since we got to see Pino.  She was quite hilarious in practically every scene she was in.  One thing I did find kind of strange about this episode was they encountered a proxy in the middle of nowhere.  If they wanted to show us that the bullet could actually kill a proxy I think they could have chosen a better setting.  Rill has seen first hand that Vincent is Ergo Proxy.  This puts everything she is going to do in a new light.  With only one bullet left, will Rill eventually use it on Vincent?  That’s one thing I look forward to finding out.

Blood+ 33

The story picks up one year after the fall of the “Red Shield”.  Kai and the others are in London now continuing their fight even without Saya.  There’s no doubt that Kai has changed over the course of a year.  I don’t mean physically since that is blatantly obvious, but his personality has changed.  On the other side of the ocean we get to see what Collins and Julia have been up to.  These new troops of the living dead actually seem pretty powerful.  It looks like this project is supported by Diva’s chevaliers, which strikes me as odd at the moment since I don’t have a clue what their plan involves.  To be honest I didn’t think Saya and Hagi would appear in this episode, but I’m glad they did since that made me look forward to the next episode even more.  Just by looking at the preview I can see that Saya seems darker and looks even more awesome.
