Ah! My Goddess Sorezore no Tsubasa 21

The recent episodes have been quite disappointing. One of the things I found odd about this episode was why Belldandy’s angel had sunglasses on as well. Even though this may not have been the best episode of the season, I still managed to enjoy watching this episode. It’s not everyday we get to see Belldandy try to “misbehave” and cause trouble for others. The next episode is already the finale for the season. 22 is a really odd number to end an anime series, but there you go. It’s almost guarenteed it won’t be a real ending to the series. This is one of those series that can drag on forever without any real resolve. It looks like it’ll be an entertaining episode, but I can’t say I’m dying to see it.

ZEGAPAIN 23

Just as expected, a few of the vessels were taken out not long into the episode. During the scene where Kyo and the others were talking to a part of Naga we learned a lot of new things. They pretty much used that time to answer almost all remaining questions we’ve had up until this episode. We still haven’t heard anything new about Shizuno, but with 3 episodes left I’m not worried about them leaving an explanation out. As it is nearing the climax we expect things to get more exciting. I found that things are getting relatively more and more interesting, especially now that we have a lot more background information. After I thought about the facts that we have so far, I’m even more uncertain about what kind of ending would be most probable for this series. With the way the recent episodes have been, the possibility of a bad ending isn’t a big concern for me right now.

Maybe it’s just me, but it feels a little late in the series to be introducing another character. Although this may not have been the ideal time to bring in a new character, I think Asagi fits the role of a villain quite nicely. Masane gave Rihoko hints that she wasn’t going to be around much longer. I was kind of expecting Masane to show more of her real feelings at the time. Either way it played out pretty well in my opinion. After that whole scene I wanted Masane to pull through even more than before. There are only two episodes left for this series. I still don’t have any well-supported guesses as to what is exactly going to happen. One thing is certain though; I’m excited to watch the rest of the series.

I was expecting some of the questions from the previous episode to be answered. They did provide some answers that made a few things more clear. However, this episode also raises yet more questions. As much as I enjoy a good mystery, I don’t feel being kept in the dark about something as critical as this should have been left until so late in the series. The whole issue with Mikoto, Mizushima, and someone who is obviously Hakuoro in some shape or form still feels completely out of place. I’m starting to have doubts they will be able to tie that smoothly into the current setting. It would have been better if they had left the setting alone, but since it’s too late to change that I’m open to seeing what the writers have in mind. With the recent turn of events I can’t say I’m expecting much of an ending anymore.

School Rumble 2 Gakki 23

I don’t really have anything to complain about for this episode. I was very pleased with what it had to offer. The first short story had some pretty hilarious scenes in it. From Tenma’s heart-felt scene with the scale to her unexpected talent, it was pure entertainment from start to finish. Who would have thought that Tenma would actually be good at something. I have to say that I probably enjoyed the second mini-episode the most out of the three. I would have never guessed Lala would want to take up ice skating. When one thinks of the grace in figure skating, Lala isn’t exactly the first person to come to mind. Imadori’s sinister laugh cracked me up, especially knowning it was to humiliate Lala. Although the third mini-episode wasn’t as good as the other two in my opinion, I still enjoyed watching it. They just need to keep up this level of quality for the remaining 3 episodes then I’ll be extremely happy with this series.

ARIA The NATURAL 23

This is the kind of episode I’ve come to expect from the series; an episode without anything to do with the supernatural that is simply easy to enjoy. It’s an extremly laid back episode, which is perfectly suited for this series. We learn about another tradition that has been supposedly adapted from the real Venezia. The episode may have been low on excitement, but everything worked nicely from beginning to end. It is episodes like this one that remind me of the sad truth that this series is going to be wrapping up very soon. Since it doesn’t follow any sort of continuous plot they could easily pull off an even longer series. There are only three episodes left in the series. I hope they can give us another great ending for the series like they did for the first season.

Things are slowly heading towards the climax of the entire series. Saya is running out of time since her deep sleep period is almost here. If she doesn’t kill Diva this time then it will be too late to save the world. I thought the scene where Solomon officially became Saya’s chevalier was cool, but it was sort of ruined by the fact that he ended up dying at the end of the episode. At least this time James is gone for good as well. I do wonder how Saya and the others will even take on Diva, let alone Nathan and Amshel. It was only due to luck that they were able to beat James. Unless Hagi has something left up his sleeve things look pretty bleak. Saya appears far too weak compared to Diva. With only three episodes left I have no clue how Saya and her allies could win with the way they are currently. Since this is a Production I.G. project I have faith that they will be able to pull off something good.
