Those who have watched or read “Rurouni Kenshin” should recognize the parody in this episode as Shishio Makoto, the greatest villain in the series. Luckily this episode concludes the Papillon Mask arc. I thought he was unimpressive as a villain. He only became more and more bizarre with each encounter. Besides Papillon Mask, however, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. It may not have been a mind-blowing episode, but it fulfilled what it set out to do. With the way the series has portrayed Tokiko thus far, she gave Kazuki’s lance an unexpected name. I won’t deny that I find it kind of an odd name right now, but I’m sure it will grow on me in time. Based on the preview for the next episode, it looks like things will become much more interesting than the previous episodes.
