Busou Renkin 2

We now have a better understanding of how the homunculus are created. The person responsible for at least the first episode’s homunculus made an appearance in this episode. I can’t say he’s the most sinister looking villain I’ve seen. For the time being I have absolutely no idea why Watsuki Nobuhiro would create a villain wearing such a comical mask. I understand the benefits of including humour into a series like this at the appropriate moments, but I highly doubt the villain was created for comedic purposes. The story already introduces a crisis. With limited time we may start to feel a sense of urgency over the next couple of episodes. I see it as a good thing since it would mean they’ll progress with the story quickly with hopefully minimal filler episodes.

This is another “Shounen Jump” series turned anime. Unlike “Death Note” and “D.Gray-man”, I haven’t read any of the manga so I’m watching this series with a blank slate. I don’t know if this first episode was taken right out of the manga or not, but I thought it was fun to watch. I’m assuming this episode followed closely to the manga since that’s usually the case for most series. From what I can tell based solely on this first episode, I’m going to like Tokiko and Kazuki. They both seem to be pretty interesting characters. Mahiro somewhat reminds me of Orihime from “Bleach” and Nono from “Aim for the Top 2!”. This appears to be just another shounen series upon first glance, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing of course. Depending on the stories to come I may end up enjoying this series a lot. I’ll definately keep up with this series for the time being.
