This is the first of four “Shounen Jump” series starting this season. At least for the first episode they followed the manga. Voice casting for the moment seems to be good. Kobayashi Sanae as Allen was a nice choice in my opinion. Using Yukino Satsuki as a guest role gives me a lot of confidence in their seiyuu choices for the other characters. One thing that has me concerned is whether or not they intend to make this a long-running series like “Naruto” or “Bleach”. The manga doesn’t have that many chapters just yet so the anime is bound to catch up to the manga sooner or later. They’ll either cut it short like what they did with “Air Gear” or include filler arcs until the manga has another significant lead over the anime. For now I don’t have a choice but to wait and see what they decide to do. Until then I think I’ll enjoy the anime version of “D.Gray-man” quite a bit.
