Full Metal Panic! TSR 13 (Final)

It was nice to see that the ending didn’t disappoint. Seeing Chidori walk up to Sousuke in the beginning and watching her beat him around was great. His reaction was priceless. Watching Sousuke take down 5 Venom units by himself was pretty awesome. I still think the conversations between Sousuke and Arbalest’s AI are hilarious. The whole issue with Leonard hasn’t been resolved yet so I think it’s highly likely we’ll see another “Full Metal Panic!” series down the line. I’m thinking the woman who was watching over Chidori will play a bigger part in the next series based on what they showed in this episode. Another part I liked was seeing some sort of resolution between the tense atmosphere between Teletha and Sousuke. I would have liked to see a bit more of Teletha, but I’m somewhat satisfied with what was provided. In the end we see that everything is back to normal. I can only hope for another series like this one or a second season to “Fumoffu!?”. This was a good ending for this chapter of the series.

Only one word is needed to sum up this season: Amazing. Unlike the first season, I enjoyed every episode of this one. This season has a nice mix of action, drama, and comedy. Basically “The Second Raid” takes all the good stuff from season one and “Fumoffu!?” and throws out the trash. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because it may be hard to follow along without prior knowledge from the first season. If you’ve already seen the first season, then you must watch this one. Even if you did not enjoy the first season all that much this one is a must. The quality between the two seasons is huge. If you have not seen any “Full Metal Panic!” then you should watch season one just so you can enjoy season two.

Although we knew Gaulun was in this series since the trailer, this was the first time we got to see him. We learn from Gaulun the name of the organization he was with and why they were still interested in Chidori even though they have a “Whispered” of their own. I really liked Teletha’s scene in this episode. I thought her questioning Mardukas’ confidence in her was great. The clock is ticking and there is only one episode to go. We get to see a bit of action towards the end of the episode. If it’s any indication of the kind of action we’ll be seeing in the last episode, I am excited to see it.

I can’t believe there are only two episodes left. This was a slow tension build-up episode towards the finale. From the looks of it, Sousuke and his past is part of this entire conflict. Unfortunately the earliest we’ll learn more about it is in the next episode. It was pretty hilarious to see someone who looked just like Chidori. It wasn’t just her appearance that was similar. Her body language and reactions were just like Chidori. They ended the episode when the tension in the atmosphere was at its peak. Now I can’t wait to see the next episode.

キターーー! Finally an episode where we get to see lots of Melissa. We get to learn a bit about her past, even though it was only through her telling a story about it. I thought it was quite humourous to hear her speak in Cantonese. Sousuke’s conversation with Arbalest’s AI was pretty interesting. That’s definately one smart AI. You can see how losing his mission to protect Chidori affected Sousuke. He starts losing the ability to focus on his new mission. Sousuke accepts he can’t carry on without thinking about Chidori so he withdraws himself from the mission. It seems like there’s still a lot of stuff to cover with only 3 episodes left.

This episode was like something out of a suspense movie. After accepting the fact Sousuke isn’t around anymore, Chidori decides to take matters into her own hands. I must say her plans were all pretty good considering she’s a civilian. This is the first time we get to see Leonard’s face. If it wasn’t for the name of the voice, it would be difficult to tell whether Leonard was male or female. What exactly does he have planned? I look forward to finding out. Next week it’s back to Sousuke’s story.

Teletha completely lost it in this episode. I thought it was a pretty intense scene. It’s not everyday we get to see Teletha cry. We find out that the pilot of the black M9 is Belfangan. As it turns out he is now the leader of Sousuke’s division, in other words Uruz 1. We briefly see Leonard Testarossa having a conversation with Gates. Currently we don’t really know much about the either of them. At the end of the episode we see Gaulun’s AS attacking Hong Kong. I want to see them continue on with that branch of the story next week, but it looks like next week’s episode is focused on Chidori.

I didn’t think this one was as intense as the previous episodes. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good one. On the contrary, I found this to be fun to watch just like all the other episodes. The tension was pretty high in the second half of the episode. It’s a fairly nice build-up episode. It’s just unfortunate we won’t be getting a new episode for the next two weeks. I was expecting Sousuke to disobey an order for once and refuse to remove himself from his former duties to protect Kaname. I look foward to the next episode in three weeks time.

They must have learned from their mistakes after season 1. They continue to provide us with high quality episodes. The whole barber scene was pretty hilarious. It’s like something you’d expect from Fumoffu. I thought Gates’ scene was a bit disturbing. Everything in that scene just looked very wrong. I liked how they ended this episode. It makes you wonder if Sousuke will for once disobey an order in order to protect Kaname.

“ROCK AND ROLL!!” They’re definately on a roll. This was yet another awesome episode. The first scene with Sousuke dismantling the car to look for a car bomb was pretty funny. When you find out it’s their teacher’s car you can’t help but chuckle and feel kind of bad for her at the same time. Getting to see Melissa in a dress was a nice addition in this episode. Although it makes sense to use fake eyebrows as well, it just looked kind of odd to see her throw away two fake eyebrows. The whole car chase scene was hilarious; especially when Sousuke was trying to talk on the phone with Chidori while dodging bullets. On a more serious note, we see a mysteriou M9 come to their rescue. It must be someone who will play an important role in this series piloting it if their commander won’t tell them.

This was a top-notch episode. I really don’t have any complaints with this one. I thought all the AS scenes were nicely done. Sousuke’s maneuver in his first scene of the episode comes to mind; the part where he grapples onto a wall behind to aim a shot at Gates. When the heads of Mithril suspected their information was being leaked we see Teletha take action. That whole scene was pretty awesome in my opinion. With Teletha figuring out all the strategic planning on the fly while relying on the team to remember what was said in the briefing. If anyone had any doubts about this series, I think this episode is good enough to change anyone’s mind.
