Ghost Hunt 12

This case seems to be more sad than scary. At the moment it doesn’t really set the mood for the season, but I guess it doesn’t matter as long as it’s an enjoyable episode. I thought it was quite entertaining to see Rin get put in such an awkward situation when taking his character into account. Since we are near the half way point of the series, I’m beginning to want more character development than before. Much about Kazuya still remains a mystery so hopefully some new information will be provided soon. This file is only two episodes long so we’ll get to see the conclusion in the next episode. Most likely it will have a happy ending, but regardless it should be interesting to watch either way.

This is the first one-shot episode we’ve gotten. It’s also the first comedy-centered episode in the series. Being a humourous episode, it felt pretty different from what we’ve come accustomed to. It wasn’t my favourite episode, but it wasn’t bad either. I had a good time watching it. I still prefer their usual horror and mystery-filled episodes, but an episode like this one every once in a while wouldn’t hurt either. There was a decent amount of character development in this episode as well. It seems like there may be some sort of business sponsorship between Masako and Kazuya. At least that would explain Kazuya’s willingness to assist her. It’s only speculation at this point so we’ll have to wait and see what the truth is.

I had anticipated this episode to be the conclusion of this case since all the previous files have been 3 episodes long. So for the time being this file will be at least 4 episodes long. It’s quite possible it will wrap up in the next episode because I don’t see them dragging this story on for more than another episode. This was a worthwhile episode in my opinion because of the character development in it. We may have a better understanding of Kazuya after this episode, but it also brings up new questions about him. As for this case, Ubusuna-sensei seems even more suspicious than the previous episode. I’m now pretty positive she is the culprit after watching the events in this episode.

I’m starting to feel sorry for Masako. This is the second time she has gotten physically injured on the job. At least this time we know it’s not an accident. We find out the cause of all the incidents that have been occuring to certain students within the school. Although they don’t specifically point out who the person behind all these curses are, it seems like Ubusuna-sensei is the most suspicious. I’ll just have to wait until the next episode to find out who really is behind all of this. This file is interesting, but I don’t find it as entertaining as the previous file. I’m still waiting for Ayako to step up to the plate and make a difference. I don’t want her to end up being the only person who isn’t able to do what they’re supposed to.

Houshou isn’t your stereotypical Buddhist monk, but I never expected him to have a different fulltime profession. Even Kazuya has some expectations for Ayako, so hopefully she will be able to play a key role in this case. For the time being, this case is filled with mystery rather than actual supernatural events. Upon first impression it looks like this case doesn’t involve actual spirits like the previous case. If there really are no spirits though, it seems like Ayako’s usefulness will be pretty limited this time. At first I didn’t think Mai had any special abilities like the other characters, but if her most recent dream turns out to be correct then chances are she has some innate ability. This case does not appear to be as interesing as the previous one. Of course, things could change a lot over two episodes.

After the previous two episodes for this file, I had high expectations for this one. I had anticipated a different ending, but overall it was still an entertaining episode. We learn that there’s more to Kazuya than previously thought. I didn’t think he would personally be able to deal with the situation at hand considering he appeared to rely on modern technology. Although now it makes me wonder if he really needs all the other people like Ayako. Regardless, they make good company even if they don’t end up being able to contribute much. The next file is at least 3 episodes as well. I personally like how they’re splitting each story into multiple episodes. It allows us to becomre more absored in each specific case.

This episode couldn’t have aired at a better time. Watching some “Ghost Hunt” on Halloween seems to be the perfect mix. This was a really entertaining episode to say the least. The cause of all the incidents from the previous episode are made clear. Things turned out to be a lot more serious than previously thought. Since many of the other characters really didn’t contribute much in the previous file, they are given a chance to make up for that. We finally get to see some of the other characters make a difference. All that remains is for the crew to resolve the issue at hand. I’m pretty interested in seeing how they will go about doing it. Now that we know what has been behind all of the events, it makes me wonder if Kazuya will be able to do anything.

Ghost Hunt 4

I found this episode to be more enjoyable than the first file. There really was no character development to speak of in this episode. For this series, character development isn’t a high priority for me. As long as they give us interesting stories with some occasional character development, I’ll be happy. Although the title of this file already suggests the culprit of the incidents in this episode, it could always turn out to be something else altogether. The events in this episode don’t really provide a solid answer to the situation at hand since it looks like there may be two separate entities at work. I look forward to getting more clues to help bring us closer to figuring out the truth behind this case. If the other files turn out to be as entertaining at this episode then I have no doubt I’ll want this to be a long-running series.

Ghost Hunt 3

This episode concludes the first file. We get an explanation for all the occurrences since the first episode. It was a mixture of both expected and unexpected answers. In a way it felt a little anticlimactic after all the build up from the previous episode. Nevertheless, I was still thoroughly entertained. I’m glad this won’t be the last time we’ll get to see people such as Ayako. They need to be given a chance to redeem themselves. After watching three episodes, we still don’t know all that much about the main characters. We have a general idea of what their personalities are like, but these three episodes have been almost void of any background information. The next file appears to be at least 3 episodes long. I like seeing stories spread across multiple episodes. The only bad thing is I have to wait at least a week before I get to see the rest of the story.

Ghost Hunt 2

So starting from right where we left off, the search continues for the culprit behind the supposed poltergeist phenomenon. I’ve been suspecting Kuroda was behind every incident from the first episode, but now I’m not so sure anymore. The events in this episode seems too elaborate for one “living” person to pull off. Kazuya’s explanation for all the occurrences made sense at the time, but it doesn’t explain the severe activity seen towards the end of the episode. The series has an interesting mix of different professions to provide different answers. I still don’t know whether or not the series will end up actually revealing the existance of ghosts or solve every case with a logical explanation. I’m pretty excited to see the conclusion of the first file in the next episode.
