The episode starts off showing Pete standing in front of the gate to Heaven. That scene seemed kind of awkward to say the least. We haven’t gotten any serious skating scenes yet. I’m assuming it will be part of the series. Although even without the seriousness it’s still entertaining right now. In this episode we meet one of Tazusa’s rivals, Shido Kyoko. I’m hoping to see some intense competition between the two in the upcoming weeks. Pete himself doesn’t seem to be much of an interesting character yet. Maybe down the line we’ll learn more about him.

I didn’t think this series would have so much humour in it. I was expecting a somewhat more serious sports anime. Although it may only be because this was the first episode. With one of the main characters named Peet Pumps I guess it was bound to have some humour in it. Hearing Tazusa voiced by Kawasumi Ayako say “Kiss my ass” in English was priceless. I liked what I saw in the first episode. The series has a nice seiyuu cast along with nice character designs. Regardless of whether or not they keep this level of humour I am going to keep an eye on this series.
