Mahou Sensei Negima 26 - Final

July 6th, 2005 by Gunlex

Gunlex: Has it really been 26 episodes already? That seemed to go by pretty quickly. The episode itself was fun to watch. Nodoka was finally able to tell Yue exactly how she feels. There was plenty of action as well, even if some of it was pretty silly. They tried to explain and cover as much as they could in one episode, but there are still some loose ends left. It does make me want to get the manga to find out what happens after the final anime episode though.

Is this series in my top 10 favourite anime series? Not by a long shot. Do I think this is worth the time to watch 26 episodes? I feel that it is. It may be slow in the beginning without all that much going on. The pace picks up and it gets more entertaining. This is nothing like Love Hina. It’s better than Love Hina on every level. If you want to watch a series with likeable characters with a happy ending, pick up Mahou Sensei Negima.

Gunlex: One more episode to go. There’s quite a bit to take in from this episode. We get to see a bit of what Nagi Springfield is like and why he wasn’t around for Negi. The mystery behind Asuna’s death is revealed as well. We also see that Takahata is definately a user of magic. With Nagi gone we’ll just have to see if Negi can find a way to save Asuna. It seems like there’s still a lot of things to get through with only one episode left.

Gunlex: Wow, I didn’t think I would enjoy this episode as much as I did. I thought the music they used at the beginning of this episode was great. Not including an intro song was a nice idea. The OST should be worth getting just for some of the bgm’s they used last episode and this one. Using the normal ending song for this episode just ruined all the emotion that was built up from the last scene. I can’t exactly feel bad for Nodoka since Yue is right; plus Nodoka doesn’t bother doing anything about it. Yue has tried supporting her long enough. I wasn’t expecting them to play out the Yue and Nodoka situation in this episode. I thought the episode would solely be focused on Asuna and her death. That in itself was unexpected. I hope they get into explaining the reason for it and whatnot. With only two episodes left, I have my fingers crossed in hope that they will wrap things up nicely without TOO many holes.

Gunlex: This is easily one of my favorite Negima episodes thus far. Some of the questions surrounding Asuna are answered, but more questions are raised as well. Looks like there’s a connection between Takahata and Asuna from 10 years ago. The character animation for Asuna seemed to be better in this episode than other ones. I wasn’t very fond of the opening song for Negima, but the version they used for this episode’s ending was nice. The art for the ending was really good too. With a huge turn in the series, I look foward to the next episode.

Gunlex: It seems the story is now heading in the direction to reveal Asuna’s identity. Negi seems pretty determined to improve his magic, even if he has to learn from Evangeline. I came into this series thinking it would be just like Love Hina where nothing happens. Luckily this isn’t the case and I find myself wanting to see what happens next.

Gunlex: Evangeline is way more powerful than when she was fighting Negi. This didn’t feel like a Negima episode at all. I did find myself enjoying the episode nonetheless.

Gunlex: So class 2-A are in Kyoto. We learn a bit about Setsuna and Konoka and their connection. There’s a new half-time as well, I think it’s a nice change. I didn’t expect Akira Ishida to make an appearance in Negima. We’ll probably see more of his character in the next episode. It seems like maybe Evangeline will be allowed to leave school.

Gunlex: The entire episode pretty much revolves around Aisaka Sayo and her background. This episode is easily one of my favorite Negima episodes thus far. One of those “feel-good” episodes. (´・ω・`)
