War has broken out once again.  This time around they are being invaded by another country.  Without anywhere near the number of troops as the enemy, Hakuro must rely on tactics.  I didn’t find this episode to be as enjoyable as the previous episode.  It took Eruru a while, but she was finally able to speak her mind.  As profound as that may have appeared, it really doesn’t change anything.  Hakuoro may start keeping fewer secrets from Eruru, but I’m guessing that is pretty much the extent of it.  At least it looks like we will meet a new character in the next episode who may help liven things up.  I’m all for expanding the number of characters, but I do hope they don’t wait too long before we start figuring out just who Hakuoro really is.

I think this is the first episode where we don’t actually have any blood or violence.  It was nice to see things so laid back for an entire episode.  We get to meet new characters in this episode as well.  Camyu seems to be a fairly interesting character.  She seems to be the only character who appears to be playful all the time.  The part I enjoyed most was probably when Camyu tried to befriend Aruru.  I thought it was pretty hilarious to see Aruru run away from Camyu everytime she got too close.  The country is at peace for now, but of course it is not going to last.  If the preview is of any indication, some sort of new conflict will arise in the next episode.

After 7 episodes the series appears to have finished its first story arc. Starting from the next episode it looks like the story will take a different turn. I’m glad to see that they finished this part of the story off already. Things were starting to get a bit old since most of the battles resembled one another. In fact, I noticed that in just this episode alone there were scenes where the character animations were just reused with a different background. I realize it’s common practice for series to reuse frames to save time and money. In this case, however, they were used a bit too many times. The CG used in this episode was pretty bad too. With this arc presumably behind us, I hope what’s to come will be a lot better.

When I was watching this episode it felt like a lot of stuff was happening. After finishing it and thinking about the events that took place, I realized that the story itself didn’t move very far. Even though the progression was slower than I would have liked, it managed to maintain my attention. I just can’t get tired of seeing Eruru blush. Tension is high so there’s a chance we’ll get even less opportunities to see Eruru be her cheerful self. She is already showing a lot of concern over the current situation. It does look like there will be quite a significant turning point in an episode or two. If they pick up the pace just a bit I think the series will be a lot more fun to watch.

I’m glad to see that this series appears to be getting better. Just like the previous episode, it feels like we’re actually headed somewhere with the plot now. I didn’t expect any humour at all, but there were at least two scenes that were meant to be funny. One instance I liked was when Eruru got mad at Aruru and Mukuru for letting Mukuru eat behind their backs. The angry look Eruru gave Mukuru was just priceless. The two latest episodes have allowed me to begin regaining faith in this series’ potential. What gives me hope that this series will continue to get better is the opening for this series. There are lot of characters shown in the opening that we have not yet met.

I was glad to see that a lot happened in this episode. The series didn’t really start a plot until this episode. Whether or not the plot is any good is a whole other matter. It’s far from original and it doesn’t feel all that great just yet. It definately could have been worse though. Now that we have an idea of where the series is heading we can enjoy the series a bit more. Once again we don’t get to see much of Eruru, just like the previous episode. I really do hope they pick up the pace with the story and character development for this series though. It isn’t exactly boring me too much right now, but with so many other series out this season I could make better use of my time if the series remains at this current level of entertainment. I don’t want to have to drop this series.

I guess you can say there was some plot development in this episode. I can’t tell whether or not this turn of events actually leads to the main plot of the series or if it’s just something that lasts for another episode or two. We do get to meet new characters, which was nice. From the way they portray Oboro, he will probably be a recurring character throughout the series. Even though I didn’t find this episode boring or anything, I would have liked to see more of Eruru. She was barely in this episode at all. Something important happens at the end of the episode that appears to play an important part in the next episode. I just hope it will eventually somehow have some relation to the plot of the series.

For the time being it doesn’t seem like we will get into the main plot of the series. Maybe once Hakuoro begins to regain some of his memories the story will shift into the main plot. Although things weren’t exactly all that exciting, I thought it was still interesting in its own way. There wasn’t a whole lot of character development in this episode. We do get a better idea of what type of person Aruru is like in the second half of the episode. I think Hakuoro will have to leave the village sooner or later. It just doesn’t seem like things can continue to provide entertaining episodes if the village is the only setting the stories are set in. I thought Eruru wasn’t in this episode much at all, so hopefully they will make up for it next week.

This is one of those series where you need to watch a few episodes before you know if this is for you or not. Not a whole lot happens in the first episode so we don’t really know what’s going on yet. Even though the first episode was pretty uneventful, I still thought it was entertaining. I really like the character designs for this series. Eruru seems to be a pretty awesome character. The voice acting seems to be done pretty well too. For the time being what I want to see most from this series is the development of the relationship between the lead male character and Eruru. They have nice chemistry with one another. I will give this series at least another episode or two before I decide if I will stick with it or not. Even though I would want to continue watching it for the art, if the story is not entertaining I will have to pull myself away from it.
